Our certified technicians take the time to insure proper glass installation. We do not follow the footsteps of the competition. We make it a point to remove any items that are in the way of the installations. This as a result will consume more of the technician’s time and effort, but justifies proper seal and installation – which is our main goal.

Once all hindering accessories are removed, the broken glass is removed using specialised tools. In case sealant is needed (e.g. windshield replacement) then, the frame where the broken glass was sitting will be thoroughly cleaned. (In the case of older cars, rust might exist on the metal frame. If that is the case, we do our best to file down all the rust). Then, Primer is applied to the metal frame to help preventing it from rusting (or to help prevent rust from re-appearing).

After that, a different chemical compound is applied on the glass

which will activate a chemical bond reaction once it touches the sealant. The last step

is to apply the sealant on the frame and install the glass on it. All parts are then put back together.

This was a brief description of our work steps and what is mainly involved. It is crucial to be thorough

with these installation steps and all the details involved, otherwise, the customer will experience problems or in some

cases dangerous situations in the future.

At Alert Glass, cutting corners to reduce cost is not an option. For example, a windshield installation

may require from one and a half up to three tubes of sealant (depending on the size) to eliminate any doubts that the

glass is sealed properly, whereas other lower priced competitor deals may use insufficient amounts of sealant.

Before our service technicians leave you with the freshly installed glass part, they will take the time to

provide you with any safety steps that you will need to keep in mind and follow for a few days after the installation,

                     which usually are very important.
